They are turning this area into an urban, walkable environment. Phase I will feature 1200 multifamily units, 300,000 square feet of retail and a greenway and multiple parks. In addition there will be 35 office buildings, restaurants and 4 hotels. The plan has already started with Ballantyne’s Backyard Community Park! This park is over 100 acres of green space with catch and release fishing ponds and running, walking, and biking trails. This park is open every day from dawn to dusk.
Ballantyne Village, easily recognized by the crown atop its tower, a nod to Charlotte’s Queen City heritage, is the main hub located in the center of the Ballantyne area. This is a high end shopping area with boutique retail, restaurants, the YMCA and some office space.
The Ballantyne Hotel offers upscale hotel rooms, event venues and resort amenities in addition to stylish ballrooms, professional meeting rooms and outdoor venues.
Ballantyne Country Club features some of the best golfing amenities in Charlotte. The full service facility has an 18 hole Rees Jones designed championship golf course, 24/7 state of the Art fitness center, and 5 resort style pools and 6 tennis courts. There is a large calendar of social events in the Main Clubhouse for all ages to enjoy. The homes in this area run from $550,000 up to 3 million.
