Millbridge

Millbridge is located in Waxhaw, North Carolina which is in Union County. This is a large neighborhood, and when it is completed, there’ll be about 2000 homes total. This neighborhood is located off of Kensington Drive, and is literally right next to the border of North and South Carolina. Just up Kensington Drive towards Providence Road is a shopping plaza that has Harris Teeter, Dunkin’ Donuts, restaurants, etc. The neighborhood is also super close to the historic main street area of downtown Waxhaw with its quaint shops and restaurants. Millbridge has newer construction and it even has some new construction for sale. However some of the homes are over 10 years old. They’ve had various builders throughout this large neighborhood such as Dan Ryan builders, DR Horton, Pulte, and Lennar to name a few. There are various floor plans throughout this neighborhood consisting of ranch homes or one story homes, one and a half story homes, as well as two story homes. There are two car garages and some 3 car garage homes throughout this neighborhood. There is one section in Millbridge which is primarily ranch homes for those who want a smaller, more manageable, and lower maintenance lifestyle. From Millbridge, you have close proximity to both Charlotte’s and Ballantine’s city life with the historic charm of the small town of Waxhaw.

The entrance to Millbridge is unique with it’s covered bridge. The covered bridge leads towards the Mill House, which is the main amenity center with its working water wheel. The amenities in this neighborhood include a lazy river with a waterslide, a full-time amenities coordinator, multiple pools, multiple playgrounds, tennis/pickleball courts, a gym, covered basketball courts, and walking trails. The walking trails in this neighborhood are connected to the Carolina Thread Trail. Through this neighborhood you can reach the suspension bridge which connects North Carolina to South Carolina. Most of the homes in Millbridge are over $400,000. There are a few that have sold for less than $400,000 or even close to it, but those are usually older homes and smaller homes. The HOA fees are $810 per year. There are two different school districts in this neighborhood so you need to be aware of that if school districts are important to you.

Bridgemill

Bridgemill is located in Indian land, South Carolina which is just over the NC/SC border. This neighborhood consists of some townhouses but primarily single-family homes. The townhomes are located at the entrance off of 521. The townhomes in this neighborhood are very large though. They’re over 2000 ft.² and have two car garages. The single family homes have various floor plans such as ranch, two story homes with the primary bedroom on the first floor, as well as two stories with all the bedrooms upstairs, and even some three-story homes and walkout basements. These homes have 2 and 3 car garages. The homes in Bridgemill are approximately $400,000 and up to $900,000. These homes were built by John Weiland and Pulte. The HOA fees are $290 a quarter or $1160 annually. The townhomes have an additional HOA fee of $205 per month.

The amenities in Bridgemill consist of a clubhouse with a fitness center, pools, multiple parks and playgrounds, tennis courts, and basketball and volleyball courts. There is shopping and dining at the entrance of the neighborhood off of 521 in Bridgemill Commons. Bridgemill is also right off 521, so there is quick access to Charlotte, Ballantyne, and all the advantages of the 521 corridor. Bridgemill is in the Lancaster County School District.

Both Milbridge and Bridgemil are large communities that have many amenities. While their names can be confusing, just remember Millbridge is in North Carolina while Bridgemill is in South Carolina.
