Mint Hill, NC

Only 11 miles from Uptown Charlotte, the suburb of Mint Hill, NC is located in the southeastern portion of Mecklenburg County. Mint Hill is a small town with unique features, and has quick access to Charlotte and all it has to offer.

Mint Hill Veterans Park is 50 acres of fun with amenities of two beach volleyball courts; two soccer fields and one softball fields; six tennis courts; a nine-hole disc golf course; three picnic shelters, four outdoor handball/practice courts; three horseshoe pits; a children’s playground; an asphalt in-line skating and bike path; a one mile nature trail; restrooms and 150 parking spaces. This is the sight of Family Fun nights every summer with concerts, food trucks, games and water fun with the Mint Hill fire department. Here is also where the Music and Brews festival takes place in September. Mint Hill Madness in October features food, music from country to rock, a family carnival and fireworks. The other park in Mint Hill is Park on Wilgrove which offers a lighted softball field, two lighted tennis courts, two non-lighted courts, a natural walking trail that circles the perimeter of the park, several large and small picnic areas, and a large variety of playground equipment.

The Farmer’s Market of Mint Hill is open every Saturday from May to October. Near the Town Hall is a brewery called Pour 64. This family owned brewery offers over 40 different types of craft beer, many of them local. At the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village, located in downtown Mint Hill, visitors can walk through the restored Country Doctor’s Office, the Ashcraft one room schoolhouse, the Ira V. Ferguson Country Store and the Gold Assay office where miners brought their ore. Other outbuildings in the village like the blacksmith shop, corn crib, wood wright shop, mill, and meat curing building reflect the rural nature of early Mint Hill.

The latest nature preserve in the Charlotte area, Stevens Creek, opened in 2021 in Mint Hill. This 281 acre preserve has picnic facilities, bathrooms, a nature center building and small shop. The well marked trails meander through the woods and are easy and accessible.
Love horses? Mint still has vast farmlands where horses can freely roam. Joli Cheval Equestrian Center provides high-quality services for horse care. If you want to learn how to ride or care for a horse, this is the place to visit.

Mint Hill has an annual rodeo in April put on by the Mint Hill Historical Society. The event is located at 8201 Bartlett Rd.
